No two labs look alike, so it starts by looking at yours.
You don't need this to find out what's wrong. You have tools for that. This is the self-discovering view you leave running, and the one screen your household can read without asking you.
How it sees your network
Sweep, don't integrate
It sweeps the /24 it's sitting on, every few minutes, and matches ARP answers to MACs. It doesn't log in to your router or controller, so any gear works.
Roles from ports
Manufacturer lookups and a short list of port checks decide whether something is a server, a printer, a camera or a TV. Anything you set by hand stays set.
It sorts itself
Wired gear orbits close in, wireless further out. Containers and VMs become moons of their host. Move anything yourself and it stops rearranging that device.
Churn-aware
A device that moves address is tracked by MAC, and it can tell you when an address changed. Phones with private MACs are flagged as possibly the same device, and you decide.
App detection
It spots Plex, Jellyfin, Home Assistant, AdGuard Home, Ollama and others, and links to them, so you're not maintaining a page of bookmarks.
Pick your own sky
Every device gets its own look: planets, moons, then Voyager, the ISS, Hubble and more. Assign any of them to any host. Yes, your NAS can be Saturn.
What you get depends on what you run
| You run | What it reads | Good to know |
|---|---|---|
| Proxmox | Every LXC and VM, with drives and storage, through a read-only PVEAuditor token | Start and stop controls need a Pro plan |
| Docker on Linux or a Pi | Containers with CPU, memory and ports | NeonSpace itself installs as a container here. Restarts from the dashboard need Pro |
| A desktop that stays on | SMART health for each disk, plus temperatures and specs on Windows | Other Windows PCs can send their temperatures too |
| Unraid, TrueNAS or Synology | The box as a host on your network | There's no NAS app. Run it in a Debian or Ubuntu VM |
| Tailscale | Tailnet devices, shown online through Tailscale | Use it or another VPN for remote access. Never forward a port to the dashboard |
| Plex or Jellyfin | Finds them for free. Pro adds now playing, load and watch stats | Titles are never stored |
| Your own billing or shop | Any link that answers JSON, beside Stripe and Shopify | {"revenue30": 1200, "orders30": 14, "currency": "USD"} is all it needs. Needs Pro |
Bring your own model, or don't use one
Your endpoint
Point it at anything that speaks the OpenAI API: Ollama, LM Studio, vLLM or LiteLLM. Free on every plan, and it finds a local Ollama by itself.
A fixed list of actions
The agent can only propose actions from a short list your dashboard offers, and nothing runs until you approve it twice. The dashboard carries it out, not the model.
See the prompt
The 🔒 button shows the exact text a model would receive. Device names and log lines are treated as data, so a host named "ignore your rules" stays a hostname.
What it won't do
- It won't replace Grafana or Prometheus. There are no custom queries or dashboards.
- It watches one /24 at a time. It won't map every VLAN, and it can't see switch ports or client stats.
- It reads SMART per disk, not ZFS pool or RAID state. Keep your scrub alerts.
- Its block isn't NAC. It works through AdGuard Home's client list, so a device with its own DNS can get around it, and a new MAC is a new device. For a hard stop, use your router or a new Wi-Fi password.
- It isn't open source. It runs on your hardware with no account, but you can't audit the code.
- It does reach out for some things: weather, space data, update checks and license renewal, plus AI if you choose ours. Your device list stays local. The security page has the details.
